Are you the parent or the child?

Something very strange happens when we get to mid life.
The seesaw flips.
And everything changes angle, and direction.
Particularly in close relationships.
You’ve been the kid all these years and now
suddenly your dad’s in nappies and couldn’t care less if he
craps all over your precious carpets.
Is this revenge for what you put him through as a toddler
or is it the flip side of a sacred coin?
An opportunity to give and receive love.
Are you the parent or the child in any relationship?
Do you wear the pants or the nappies in your home?
Both probably eventually.
Only one thing’s certain.
If the game is played to the end,
the players switch roles.
Moral of the story?
Be gentle on the one in nappies.
You’re taking turns wearing them.
